It brings Spyro’s livery closer to the original, with less pink and saturated colors, darker wings, and lighter scales. But if you want to return the original texture of Spyro, as it was in the first part, then you can easily do it using one of the Spyro Reignited Trilogy Cheats, described in the article by the link.
A port rather than a remaster might also seem like an easier solution to the fans' requests, and would hopefully also keep those against any Spyro game not in the original trilogy happy, since it wouldn't be so resource-intensive or huge as making a Spyro 4 or something. It was a satisfying comeback for nostalgic fans that were eager to revisit the original trilogy of games, which included Crash Bandicoot, Cortex Strikes Back, and Crash Bandicoot: Warped. Unlike Spyro: Reignited, these weren’t mere remasters but full-blown remakes built from the ground up using new assets, animations, and cutscenes.
